Okay, okay, so I know this post might be considered “boring” to all the non-photographers who follow our blog … however, I’m going to deem it “educational”!! Hehe : ) We often get asked what gear we use–from camera bodies, to lenses, to flashes–so we figured what better place to talk about/review our gear than the blog?! Yes?! 

Caleb + I shoot with Canon products + love them!! To be honest, it’s kind of comical that I’m the first one writing about our gear because … well … the gear is kind of Caleb’s thing. He LOVES all the techie stuff (+ frankly I completely trust his opinion + shoot with whatever he tells me is best ; ))! Don’t judge!! Caleb is super smart, well-researched, + totally trustworthy! So maybe in an upcoming post of “What’s In Our Bag”, you can get Caleb to dive deeper into why we shoot Canon!! 

Today–first up!!–I’m presenting to you the LOVE of my camera bag–the 85mm f1.2L lens!! This lens never leaves my side on a wedding day!! If you’re anything like me, then you LOVE shooting wide open because of the depth of field possibilities, + the creamy-DREAMY bokeh produced at 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 (you get it!!) with the 85mm is really matchless in my opinion!! It’s just so beautiful!! Unfortunately, on a wedding day, we often find ourselves in tight spaces + the 85mm just doesn’t work with its somewhat longer focal length!! However, during portrait time, this is FOR SURE my GO to lens!! I love it!!
