What a GREAT way to start a Monday morning!! I am officially starry-eyed over today’s engagement session at The Allen Centennial Gardens + docks at James Madison Park on Lake Mendota here in Madison!! The two locations provided the most amazing backdrops for an even MORE stunning couple! These two have absolutely stolen our hearts + we are SO thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know them as not only clients, but friends since we first met them back in January : )
After completely “clicking” on our initial Skype call (I remember hanging up the call with them + Caleb + I turned to each other + said, “They are SO cool! WAY cooler than us … !!”), + then finding out we were practically neighbors, loved our dogs, + mutually wanted to hang out with each other (we made the “coolness” cut!) … it was bound to happen ; ) Jacob + Julianne are quite possibly the easiest couple to get a long with + talk to — our time with them is always FUN, relaxed, + truly life-giving : ) We feel so grateful that God brought them into our lives + that we get to document this VERY special season for the two of them : ) Once they met, they both KNEW that they were destined to be together (it is SO obvious once you meet them!), + a proposal followed fairly shortly after they started dating!! I asked Julianne to share their proposal story with me …
“On December 17th, 2015, I had a very long day of work. It was the day we do the annual Christmas party for the Boys + Girl’s Club, which is an amazing event for around 500 kids who don’t get to have a “normal” Christmas celebration + this is something they look forward to every year. I had a FULL day of work that was incredibly heartwarming + fun, but also exhausting!! Jacob texted me earlier in the day to say he would pick up dinner for us to have a relaxing night + that I should text him when I was leaving work (little did I know he just wanted to know when I was going to be home)! When I got off work, I rushed home because I was so tired + anxious to just relax! I pulled into the garage + heard our song playing loud — the whole house was dark except for over 100 candles + rose pedals lining a path from the garage, through our kitchen + dining room into the living room where there was a slideshow of photos of us playing + him waiting in dress clothes at the end of the path. We were both already in tears by this point + just hugged for about five minutes listening to our song. He said some very special things to me before getting down on one knee + asking me to marry him. It was the most perfect proposal + I truly couldn’t think of a better place for him to ask me than in our first home we had purchased together five months before. We soaked it all in for a week on a trip to the Bahamas with our families (which we left for the next day!) before announcing it to our friends, making it even more special than it already was!” Ahhhhh, you two!! We LOVE, love love you : )!!
Meet Jacob + Julianne, + enjoy some of our favorites from their session!! There are a lot, be warned ; ) Happy Monday, everyone!!
