This past weekend, my sister graduated from Bellin College with her BSN. To say I’m proud of her would be a MAJOR understatement. McKenna has worked so hard these past four years to get this degree and what an accomplishment that she can now say she is officially a NURSE! I cannot think of a better person to go into a career that is not only guided by intellect but (perhaps even more so) by kindness, compassion, and selflessness. All of these things truly encompass my sister’s personality and I thank God for guiding her to this career and getting her through the rigorous coursework needed to officially walk across that stage as a GRADUATE : )
Graduating with her BSN is an extremely significant accomplishment in an of itself but a couple of weeks before graduation, McKenna found out that she was accepted into grad school to purse her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner (and maybe one day, Midwife!). It is very rare for a student to get accepted into this program right out of undergrad so McKenna, you should be so proud! <3
We had the best time celebrating the woman that you are this past weekend. You inspire me with your drive and commitment to never give up on something you know God is calling you to (even when it sometimes felt/feels like giving up is all you want to do). My heart TRULY overflows with hope and excitement when I think about all the ways that God is going to use you to impact the lives of your patients. Thank you for following your heart, working hard, and loving even harder. We believe in you with all that is in us and it has been a JOY and honor to watch you grow and fall more into the woman that God has so perfectly created you to be over the past several years. You are wise beyond your years and sometimes I think it’s no wonder everyone ALWAYS thinks you’re older than me!! ; ) Someday I will actually be happy about this … HA!
We love you and are SO proud of you! Now get ready for lots of medical questions in the future …. ; ) Congrats, sister!!
