What a JOY it is to be with these two!! We had the best time getting to know Brock and Tara at their engagement session last week and one of the things we learned about them was that we both live in Verona, just outside of Madison, meaning I can’t wait to continue spending time with them and getting to know them! We already decided a Friday night hangout watching live music at a local brewery in town is a must! I can’t wait!

Tara is probably one of the nicest people on the planet … I am convinced of it! She is so sweet, always thinking of others before herself, so affirming and encouraging of those around her, gentle, and has such a calming presence about her. Brock is the life of the party, an energizer bunny, entertainer, joke-teller, and extremely charismatic. As you can imagine, these two compliment each other SO well : ) Brock has Tara laughing … and laughing … and laughing … and yet when the moments came, I saw before my eyes the very way that she softens and melts him. Photographing their love was a breeze and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be the one to do it in this season of their lives!

Brock and Tara met here in Madison a few years ago when Tara came to visit a friend of hers in Madison for a girl’s weekend. She NEVER thought she would be meeting her future husband on the girl’s weekend away! (Love how that happens : )). Someone told the group of girl’s to go to this dive bar in Madison — of all places … it was fate! — and that is where Brock and Tara met for the first time. They exchanged numbers, eventually went on a first date, and the rest is history!! I love how the timing of life works things out, sometimes when we’re least expecting it!! We cannot WAIT to photograph their wedding in December in Dubuque, Iowa! Until then, enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session!
