I hope you’re ready to meet such a FUN, adorable, and super down-to-earth couple today because Dan & Kirsten are just that! It didn’t take more than a few minutes of chatting (and already pulling our phones out to obsess over our fur babies) before I felt like I had been friends with these two for a long time … they are just those kind of people, I can tell. They are easy to talk to, they are interested in a lot of different things, their smiles are warm and inviting, and Dan – well, his sense of humor is hilarious and will have you laughing all night long!

Dan & Kirsten met at UW-Madison, just before their senior year of their undergrad. Dan subleased the apartment right across from where Kirsten lived for the summer and after one party where the “new guy” showed up, these two noticed each other and the rest is history! Dan got Kirsten’s number and invited her to go to Madison’s famous Concerts on the Square with him : ) They ended up talking for hours that night and there began not only their dating relationship but such a beautiful friendship as well!! For the first part of their engagement session earlier this week, we had to do a few photos at the Camp Randall arch, right across the street from where they first met (!!) and then also the Capitol lawn where that first date took place : ) I love how intentional these two were with choosing their locations!

After they graduated and before starting medical and physical therapy school, Dan & Kirsten traveled throughout South America for four months; it was SO cool to hear about their experience and made me want to book a flight to Bolivia … or Argentina … or Chile, ASAP! Kirsten said that after spending every minute of every day together for four months straight (and still liking each other!), they knew they were an inseparable pair. The following years have brought intense schooling and life changes and still, they are laughing together the whole way : )

For our final spot for their session, we took some photos on Lake Monona in a nod to both Dan & Kirsten’s love for her family’s cabin in northern Wisconsin. This is the spot where these two love to go, relax, connect with family and with nature … and it’s also where the got engaged! : ) I am so excited to share their photos with you and absolutely cannot wait for their wedding this coming May!!!!
