I’m not quite sure where to start with these two. They have already left a mark on me and I’ve “known” them for … less than two months?! Yes, we have a LOT in common. Yes, they are incredibly (incredibly) kind and easy to talk to. But truly, I think it’s the selflessness that gets me. In one of her first emails to me, Maddie literally wrote, “Is there anything we can do for you both? We’d love to help and make your lives easier!” And then at their session, I saw this lived out as they truly served and put one another first … including Ryan carrying Maddie across a rock obstacle course to help us get the very best shot! I am grateful to rub shoulders with and learn from people like Ryan and Maddie.
Originally from the Madison area, these two are high school sweethearts whose love story has taken them across states, countries, and continents. They now temporarily live in Austin while Ryan pursues his PhD! In Maddie’s words, “If we had to trade Wisconsin cheese curds for something, breakfast tacos and chips and queso would be it!” Again, my kind of people!! They got engaged last winter in one of their favorite places on earth, Door County. It is a place that is also very special to Ryan’s family. At their session, I learned that every time they pass through, they recarve their hearted initials into the birch tree where they got engaged. Just too cute : )
Being that they were just in town for the 4th of July … and planned their flights around the engagement session … you can imagine our worry when the forecast predicted storms the night of their session! I’m not sure I’ve ever been so happy to have the weatherman be wrong!! It didn’t start raining until I was in the car driving home : ) We had a beautiful session and I am so excited to share these with you!! See you in January, R&M!!
