Jason + Ashley | Married | A Wisconsin Country Wedding.

July 31, 2014

We pulled up to the church + Ashley was playing basketball in her veil with a couple of bridesmaids in the parking lot. “And that’s the bride!”, I told my second shooter while chuckling to myself. From the moment I met Ashley it was so obvious how laid-back, down-to-earth, + sincere of a person she is. Not to mention, she is hilarious!! I didn’t think it was possible for her to get super “worked up” about anything! So seeing her shooting hoops a couple of hours before the ceremony was no surprise to me!! However, when I got out of the car to join in on the fun (okay, I only took two shots–missed the first + made the second!!), Ashley immediately told me how nervous she was feeling!! It was actually quite adorable–to me at least! (I don’t think the nausea she experienced was adorable to her!!!). ANYWAY, the super laid-back country girl was all nervous + giddy to walk down the isle … to marry her best friend + love of her life. Gosh, I love those moments.

Coincidentally, when I went to chat with Jason for a few minutes before the ceremony, he was equally as nervous!! I think if they both knew how nervous the other person was, it might not have been so bad ; ) There is SO much anticipation + build up to that moment of seeing each other for the first time + walking down the aisle … I don’t really blame either of them. Plus, neither Jason nor Ashley love to be in the “spotlight”, which I’m sure didn’t help! Seeing them totally relax the moment they saw one another at the ceremony was so beautiful : ) There they were, together, in the right place at that moment, ready to spend forever together.

Both J + A have grown up farming in Central Wisconsin so as one could only expect, their day was centered around this lifestyle that simply, runs through their veins. At the ceremony, instead of lighting a unity candle they poured together dirt + seeds to symbolize the planting + future growing of their love + marriage. After they officially became Mr. + Mrs. Baesemen(!!!), we headed to Jason’s family’s farm for photos. Okay, WOW. Was this place gorgeous. I was blown away by how beautiful + well-kept the property was!! Stunning red barns, a breath-taking swimming pond, miles + miles of perfectly lined crops … + to top it off, the time was filled with friends + family (+ very loved pets!!) who came along to enjoy the couple on their day!! Nothing about it felt like work–instead it felt like we were all just hanging out, enjoying the scenery + one another’s company!! So fun : )

The reception followed at the Rib River Ballroom which was adorned with more sunflowers + corn seeds : ) We got to experience a singing Maid(s) of Honor speech, lots of crazy kissing games, + a super sweet video that shared images of the couple over the many years they have been dating. I swear that everyone knew everyone (+ they had 300+ guests at their reception!!), which called for lots of laughter, hugs, cheers, + poking fun ; ) Oh, + lots of country music!! It was a blast : ) We ended the night by sneaking back to the farm to get some sunset pictures with Jason + Ashley–man, this time NEVER disappoints! Some of my favorite moments of the day were when we snuck away + the two could just be together alone for a little bit (well, I’m there too, snapping pictures, of course ; ))–but really, it’s always such an intimate + sweet time : )

I have to give a quick shout-out + thank you!! to Ali Garrigan of Ali Garrigan Design, who helped me shoot this wedding while Caleb was celebrating his Bachelor party weekend with his groomsmen in northern Wisconsin. I could NOT have done this without her!!

Without further adieu, CONGRATULATIONS a thousand times over to the Baesemans!!! May your years be filled with fruitful labor, ever-growing friendship, + powerful, unfailing love. -M

Charming country flowers : )

This jewel was given to Ashley by her godparents as her “something blue”; it has the wedding day engraved on top + can be turned into a necklace!

Flowers of the Field did such a great job on the bouquets!!

This ring belongs to Ashley’s grandmother : )

I loved Ashley’s shoes!! And jewelry for that matter!!

You looked SO beautiful, Ashley!!!

LOVE this : )

I know I talk about daddy-daughter looks a lot, but this was by far the most emotional one I have experienced; these two are buddies .. hunting partners .. peas in a pod : ) It was a big day for both of them!

Okay, precious!! I love how happy the ring bearer was for Jason + Ashley!!

Best. Photobomb. Ever.

And then we got to take pictures with Ruger!!! I was in doggy heaven!! He was SUCH a good boy! And that bow tie!! I mean, c’mon!!

In their element : )

I wasn’t kidding when I said this place was BEAUTIFUL!!

Definitely a favorite!!!

Sister fight ; )

I just love this, too!!

The singing speech–Ashley’s face tells it all!!

They had dirt cake for their cake!! And I can tell you from experience that it was AMAZING!!

And back to the farm : )

Congratulations, Baesemans!!!!

Hats off to the vendors!!
