Many of you know that I’m a recent country music convert. It was about three-ish years ago that I found myself (someone who once openly bashed country music … my bad!) choosing to listen to it on a daily basis. And I’ve shared that it all started when Caleb was essentially forced to listen to country music at his old job at Harley Davidson + began sharing country (love) songs with me that reminded him of me : ) That suckered me right in!!

I would never consider myself a “country girl”, BUT after listening to country music for a couple of years now, I can honestly say that it is one of the best conversions of my life! ; ) In all seriousness, I am so happy that I gave this genre of music an honest shot … because now, here I am writing a blog post about it! ; )

So why do I love country music?

It began with love + it is because of love : ) There’s just something about a good country “love song” that stirs in me the cheesy, overly romantic, girly, lovey-dovey stuff! I just can’t help it!! And while I’m guilting of usually listening to more of the pop-country type of artists (no shame!), how can you not crank the radio as loud as it goes + think about the person you love with lyrics like:

• “I’d be fine watching you watch the sun go down; with your head on my chest + a blanket on the ground. ‘Cause everybody wants to chase the rainbow + find a pot of gold, hoping there’s a suitcase full of money … but all I want is you, honey.” –Suitcase by Steve Moakler
• “If I never get to see the Northern lights, or if I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night; oh, if all I got is your hand in my hand, baby, I could die a happy man.” –Die A Happy Man by Thomas Rhett
• “I loved you since the very first day when I caught you looking my way, I smiled + just knew it. And up until you came along, no one ever heard my song, now it’s climbing with a bullet.” –Without You by Keith Urban

These are just three of my current favorites, but there are SO many great songs that somehow, in a cheesy way (no judging!), make me feel happy + remind me of how much I love Caleb : ) And anything that can do those two things … I need more of them in my life : ) Can I get an amen!? Happy Tuesday!!
