For as long as I can remember, a tradition in my family has been cutting down our own Christmas tree! I have such fond memories of being a little girl + going to the tree farm with my dad + sister to cut down our tree. My dad would always let us choose the tree (even if he didn’t think it was the best choice!) + always seemed so strong as he cut it down with the little hand saw. For those who don’t already know, my dad is a forester (or “lumberjack” as I like to call him) + he always seemed right in his element with us at the tree farm : )
As we’ve gotten older, the tradition has evolved + it no longer includes just dad + the girls! Everyone is welcome to come — dogs included! — while mom stays back + cooks up a yummy brunch for when we get home!
I love this tradition so much + it is one that was super important for me to continue on when Caleb + I got married! Each year since we’ve been married, we’ve cut down our own tree + someday, I hope we get to do this with our own kids! While it might be easier to go buy one off the lot, there’s just something I can’t give up about the way we’ve always done it : ) Here’s to the GREATEST season of the whole entire year!!
This year’s gang!
Found a tree!!!
These guys bundle the trees AND bring them to your car! We LOVE Harmony Hill Evergreens!
