There are two things I love so much about today’s wedding post. The first is that it shares the day of an incredibly thoughtful, kind, and accomplished couple — Scott and Erin <3 The second is that it features a city we have grown to love so much Dubuque, Iowa!! So many goods things in this post and I can’t wait to share them all!!
Let’s start with the least important part, Dubuque. Such a charming, historic city with so many things to love. Because it was an overcast day, we were able to shoot at the Mount Carmel on the bluff, an absolutely unrivaled photo spot in the city!! It’s high up on the hill with a stunning view of Dubuque and the Mississippi River. Erin also found the most magical spot for family and bridal party photos, a path lined with draping evergreen trees that was just dreamy for photos (and composition!), ha! There was a chance of rain all day long but it held off until the moment we stepped on the bus after photos were all done. It was actually pretty crazy and something I know we all were so, SO thankful about!!
Scott and Erin’s reception took place at the historic Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque where their ballroom was beautifully decorated with white textured polka dot linens and lots of greenery. Erin’s grandma made over 500 mints to add to their dessert bar and though we were in Iowa, Wisconsin’s famous Spotted Cow was served for guests all night long! Another special touch to their day was wine favors made by Scott’s dad handed out after the ceremony for each guest to take home!!
In closing, I will save the very best for last — Scott and Erin : ) These two are such a dynamic, fun, and well-respected pair. It is obvious how much their friends and family look up to them and admire them … for their incredible drive and work ethic, dedication to their relationship, faith, and health (they were both collegiate athletes and now work in the medical field giving of themselves and their talents to serve others … I also learned they get up at crazy hours of the morning to get a workout in together!) and lastly, because they are just fun to be around and know how to have a good time!!! Personally, they have made us feel so loved in our time knowing them and we really thank God for bringing them into our lives and giving us the opportunity to work alongside them during such a life-changing season <3
So, without further adieu, enjoy some of our favorites from this beautiful, beautiful day!
Part of Scott’s gift to Erin was this framed print of the spot where they got engaged <3
This spot and this crew!!! <3
A favorite!!!
A band of brothers : )
The most stunning view of downtown Dubuque and the Mississippi River!!!
A special shoutout to Scott & Erin’s wedding day team!
