It will be hard to convey just how much I adore these two! After spending just ten minutes with them, I stopped the session and said, “Just be 100% honest with me – do you guys have a lot of friends?” They quietly and humbly nodded, yes. “I KNEW IT!” I shouted. “Because after just ten minutes with you I already have a friend crush and want to be your legitimate, real-life friend!” Alex and Jacque are SO cute together, absolutely hilarious, so tender and welcoming, and just … there’s this something about being around them. You feel GOOD and LOVED. Who doesn’t want to be around that?!

Alex and Jacque are high school sweethearts! They have been together a LONG time already and the ease with which they interact with one another is very noticeable. The thing I noticed the most about them was that even after so many years together, they still make each other laugh in a way that I’m not sure I’ve really ever seen. They are kind crazy about each other and just super giddy and sweet together! Alex had Jacque laughing all night long with his jokes and her dance moves to The Lion King did the same for him : ) It was so fun and refreshing to spend the evening with them!

As we were walking to the final location for the session, I wanted to glean some information from Jacque — I mean, these two have been together for MANY years and I’m always loving to learn from other couples about what makes their relationship work; what’s important to a successful partnership and marriage! I was really blown away by Jacque’s response – she said it so matter-of-factly and so casually, yet it was wisdom that I think is hard to really live by. She said, “I just think you have to remember that your partner is going to grow and change. And that’s okay, that’s good! Sometimes that can be hard and sometimes it is amazing but it’s important to support and encourage that change and allow them to become who they’re made to be … all the while staying loyally by their side through the ups and downs that come with life.” AMEN GIRL!!! I love it.

SO beyond thankful that these two are now a part of our lives : ) Enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session on the UW-Madison Campus where both Alex and Jacque went to school and got their Education degrees! We cannot wait for their wedding next summer!!!
