It’s super fun to meet couples who are really different than us because it’s an opportunity to learn and grow from people who aren’t exactly like you! However, it’s also super fun to work with couples who are really similar to us! After our time with Austin and Hannah, we left feeling like we had SO much in common with these two. From the many random connections we have with them, to our shared love of travel, winter sports, hiking, and just spending time outdoors in general, these two were fast friends : ) We had a blast hanging out with them … and the ease of photographing them was just the icing on the cake!
We met last Sunday at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo; as we were driving to the session, we couldn’t stop commenting on how perfect the weather was. The temps had finally began climbing back into the 60s (from the 40s!), the sun was shining and the fall colors were REALLY showing off. As we pulled into Devil’s Lake, however, we noticed that all of Wisconsin had the same idea as us of getting outside and enjoying the fall weather …. it was PACKED!!!! I’m not going to lie, I was really nervous about the crowds! Thankfully, Austin and Hannah weren’t phased by all the visitors and we have shot at Devil’s Lake enough to know how to shoot so that it still looks like no one was there! And truthfully, by sunset when we ended the session up top on the cliffs, most people had cleared out and we really did have the place to ourselves! So it ended up being just AMAZING : ) Austin and Hannah chose the perfect outfits to compliment the fall colors and I couldn’t stop smiling (and squealing!) all session long!
We absolutely cannot wait for the two high schools sweethearts to officially become husband and wife next September! Their wedding celebration is going to be SO much fun. After getting engaged on top of Mount Kilimanjaro (yes, they summited Kilimanjaro earlier this year and Austin COMPLETELY surprised Hannah with a proposal on the top!), I have no doubt these two have a life FULL of adventure ahead of them! Just adore you A & H!!!
