I just wish everyone could spend even 10 minutes with these two. Joe and Marissa are truly unlike anyone I have ever met. It will for sure be impossible to describe their presence and love for one another using the ordinary words I know. They are both quite literally bubbling over with joy and excitement for life … and with love and admiration for one another. They are obsessed with each other, in the best and most beautiful, pure way I could ever write that! Needless to say, I left their session FILLED up!! And feeling so thankful that I not only get to spend more than 10 minutes with them in my lifetime but get to walk (maybe run?!) alongside them as they journey towards marriage <3

For their session, Joe and Marissa wanted a breathtaking fall backdrop — does it get any more breathtaking and fall then Devil’s Lake State Park for Wisconsin? I don’t think so! It was super fun to meet these two at Devil’s Lake because they had actually never been there before! I loved seeing them experience it for the first time : ) We still had lots of color on the trees AND we had warm weather! After having to reschedule their initial session due to rain, we were all VERY happy!!

Going into the session, I feel like I had kind of known these two already. We have several connections with Marissa and I had also been chatting with her quite a bit about her and Joe’s love story : ) But spending the evening with them and really getting to know them on a deeper level was so special. We chatted about our lives as we hiked up the bluff and I learned that these two have such profound respect for one another and they make a great team. They are pretty different in a lot of ways – but all the best ways to complement and support one another as individuals in their relationship. They are also really similar in a lot of ways and truly are such great friends and have SO MUCH FUN together : ) There was laughter, tears, and so many sweet moments all throughout the session.

We cannot wait for their wedding in just under one year from today … but until then, enjoy some of our favorites from their magical fall engagement session! LOVE you two!!!
