Nick & Anna | An Intimate Wedding at St. Paul University Catholic Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

The first wedding of our 2020 season is finally here! After months of many unknowns and an unprecedented wedding season ahead, I am SO EXCITED to be sharing Nick & Anna’s wedding. It was so joyful, healing, and powerful to get to both witness and document this marriage celebration for two people of whom we have the utmost respect.

Though Nick & Anna will be having their “original” wedding day next year, complete with a blessing ceremony mass and full reception, they still decided to get married this year! Surrounded by their immediate families and grandparents, they became husband and wife at St. Paul University Catholic Center on the UW-Campus, where they first met several years ago : ) There were lots of tears and truly, just SO MUCH JOY. Everyone was just so happy that these two were finally getting married (Nick & Anna the happiest, of course!). I don’t think Nick stopped grinning from ear-to-ear the entire time we were with him : )

After the ceremony, Nick & Anna were surprised by members of their bridal party, additional family, and friends, who were waiting outside with signs, balloons, and champagne to cheers to the new couple. Again, just SO much joy : ) It was sunny, 70 degrees with a slight breeze, and in that moment it felt like true bliss.

During their first look and couple photos, Nick and Anna shared with us that as hard as the re-planning and decision-making was leading up to their day, they are so thankful that in the end, this experience gave them the opportunity to truly focus on what was actually happening on their wedding day — getting married. Everything else had to fade into the background and they were able to more intentionally sit with and reflect on the commitment they were making to one another. I love this : ) What a beautiful experience and perspective.
