Cody & Jessica | A Joyful Wedding Celebration at The Fields Reserve in Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Cody & Jessica are FINALLY married! This day was a long time coming as these two have not only been together for over five years, but they had to make the extremely difficult decision last year to postpone their wedding to 2021. Just when I didn’t think it was possible for a person to be more bubbly, joyful, or excited … Jessica surpassed it : ) All day long she radiated joy from every inch of her being and let me tell you, it was contagious!!! I have an inkling anyone who is about to look through the photos in this post will know exactly what I am talking about : )

Getting to spend time with both Jessica and Cody’s families on their day gave me great insight as to why these two are as kind and generous as they are. They come from AMAZING families and parents/grandparents who have clearly modeled love, joy, and commitment to these two over the course of their entire lives. Cody & Jessica’s deep respect for their family was evident in both the big and small things, like how they prioritized a grandparent reveal before the ceremony, or how they gave their parents the first dance of the night, not taking it for themselves, as a small gesture to honor and thank them for all they have done.

Even more beautiful to witness is not simply two wonderful separate families but two families who have truly embraced becoming ONE larger family. It was really special to see the friendship Cody & Jessica’s parents share and to experience all day long what so many talked about — that marriage really is the joining of two families, not just two people. Couple that with every thoughtful detail you could possibly imagine (… Jessica’s robe with fabric from her mother’s wedding gown, her late grandfather’s stole adorning the communion table, dog treat bags to-go for beloved furry friends, beer pong tables for late night fun since Cody & Jessica met playing beer pong …) and you get a wedding celebration that is surely hard to forget : )
