We have now known Joe & Lindsey for a couple of years and I swear, our time with them just keeps getting sweeter. Last year we photographed their wedding day (which you can see here!), a day in which these two had to make the extremely difficult decision to postpone their originally planned wedding and Ivy House celebration to 2021 due to COVID. I actually got teary-eyed at this year’s reception when Lindsey’s sister recalled the couple having to make this decision in her toast. She talked about how Joe & Lindsey’s love language is giving gifts and how they are extremely generous with those in their lives. She said how the greatest gift they could have given their guests last year was to selflessly choose to give up their original plans in order to keep their family and friends safe. So of course, that is what they did. She talked about how the most important thing to them was to just BE MARRIED, no matter what! AND how, now this year, the celebration with everyone finally together felt ten times more sweet : ) I couldn’t agree more.
It was amazing to see Lindsey’s vision come to life and to see her get emotional many times throughout the day at the sight of it all. The Ivy House was an exquisite backdrop for their celebration, with bright pops of color added in the stunning floral pieces crafted by Ebb & Flow Flowers. And the wedding party … oh, the wedding party! Finally getting to meet these friends of Joe & Lindsey was really special and I also must add how GOOD everyone looked! Needless to say, I was not surprised given J&L’s style!
Last but certainly not least, I must address the Birdsalls : ) Joe & Lindsey — you two are truly something else. You love with EVERYTHING you have and it is really, really beautiful to witness. Really beautiful. Your energy is exhilarating. We feel so lucky to have been the recipients of your goodness in this season. In Lindsey’s dad’s toast Sunday night, he said that he has “received more than he’s given” in his relationship with Lindsey and frankly, I think anyone who knows you would say the exact same thing about you both. Cheers to your love, never stop sharing it friends : )
