I’m going to deem the first engagement session of 2022 as the official start to wedding season! I had such an amazing evening with Kristian & Kathy, hanging out and snapping photos at a few of our favorite spots in a city we all call home (and love so much!). These two will be getting married next summer at The Tinsmith and I already cannot wait to see them again : )
Kristian & Kathy met six years ago, while they were both attending UW-Madison and working for the University’s Rec Sports department. Their relationship has taken them through the end of college, grad school, news jobs and new cities. They are so excited to be in this next, new season of planning their wedding!!
Despite living together, Kristian was able to pull off a proposal that was a COMPLETE surprise to Kathy; she truly had no idea it was coming! I think this is so impressive. On their way to the Farmer’s Market one Saturday morning last June, they made a pit stop at Olin Park which holds Kathy’s favorite view of her favorite city : ) Kristian proposed to her on the dock with Madison’s skyline in the background and their parents secretly watching from nearby. For the session, we had to go back and snap a photo at this same spot! We also took one in front of The Old Fashioned, where K&K had their first date.
Something I learned about these two is that while they LOVE to laugh, have fun, and be silly, they are incredibly intentional and I’m going to say, sentimental, about their relationship and story : ) They love to make each other feel loved. I think that is really special …. and so important, too! I cannot wait for them to have the celebration of their dreams next year, and to get to be the ones to capture it! Until then, enjoy a few favorites from our time together : ) xx!
