And just like that, I am blogging the FINAL engagement session of 2022! We have our winter mini sessions next month but other than that, we are preparing to head into the (much needed!) slow season winter brings to us. Our family is looking forward to the slower pace, with time to continue to connect with one another, learn our new dynamic, get to know Jet, and hopefully get some more sleep too ; )
What a fun, beautiful, and special couple to wrap the season up with today on the blog. Several years ago, we photographed Alyssa’s sister’s wedding, so going into the session we had technically already met! A wedding day isn’t entirely conducive to really getting to know a client’s sibling/bridesmaid though, so I was really looking forward to spending more time with Alyssa and getting to meet her fiancé, Kyle!
I had SUCH a great time with these two. Almost instantaneously we felt like “old friends” and I kept having to tell them, “Okay we’re going to need to pause this conversation so we can keep shooting!” I truly enjoyed getting to know them better and hearing more of their relationship story (especially from Kyle — he is such a romantic!).
Both Kyle and Alyssa have incredibly demanding careers, which made finding a date for not only their engagement session but their wedding(!) quite challenging for them. I know we are all feeling SO thankful that the stars perfectly aligned for us to work together AND for them to get their engagement session in before the end of the year! Being the thoughtful and selfless people they are, these two suggested doing their session in Madison so that I wouldn’t have to travel and leave Jet for too long while he is so young. Let’s just say … Kyle and Alyssa live in different states, and neither of them in Wisconsin, so this gesture went above and beyond. I hope our time together made them feel as loved and excited about their relationship and their upcoming wedding day as they have already made me feel in our short time of knowing one another <3
Kyle and Alyssa — we are so sincerely grateful for you! Thank you for such a FUN session and for sharing yourselves so authentically with me! We cannot wait for you to finally become husband and wife in just eight short months but until then, HAPPIEST 5 Year Anniversary and enjoy these photos to celebrate it AND all that is to come for you two!! xoxo!
