What a BEAUTIFUL session we had last week with Ben & Maggie in downtown Chicago! Though these two will be getting married at Maggie’s family lake home next year in Lake Geneva, they had to document this very special season in the place they currently call home! Plus, the city skyline paired with lake views to come will make for a stunning (and very well-rounded!) gallery, in my opinion : )
I met Ben & Maggie at The Chicago Club right downtown, where we began the session with warm indoor temperatures … and celebratory champagne! Though we had chatted on the phone prior to their session, it was wonderful to finally meet these two in person and confirm that they are, in fact, just as lovely as I thought they were going to be : ) The Chicago Club provided a stunning and extremely versatile backdrop for their photos — from the great fireplace in the lounge to the rooftop terrace views of both downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan!
After leaving the Chicago Club, we headed to a few of the city’s most iconic settings — made even more beautiful with the love of Ben & Maggie at the forefront. I know that sounds cheesy but I mean it wholeheartedly! I told them multiple times throughout the session how easy they were makings things for me AND how much I couldn’t get over the way Ben looks and Maggie … and would take any opportunity he could to give her a kiss or a snuggle : ) I truly have the best seat in the house as I’m snapping these moments from behind my camera.
How happy I am that the pandemic brought these two together. Though they lived just blocks apart in the city, it IS a big one(!) and they may have never met had it not been for forced quarantine making online dating the only way possible to meet someone two years ago. After their first date, these two very quickly became each other’s constant in such a challenging time. The rest is history as they now plan their upcoming day and, more importantly, their future together as soon-to-be husband and wife!
