We had the PERFECT night for Gabe and Meghan’s engagement session last week at The Art Museum and Lakeshore State Park in downtown Milwaukee! There was a slight chance of rain all evening, so the skies had a beautiful overcast glow (my favorite, especially by the water!) and there was nobody ‘out and about!’ I actually couldn’t believe how empty two of the most popular places in downtown Milwaukee were; it was a photographer’s dream!
During our time together, I noticed that Gabe and Meghan have a very unique and special presence — they are tons fun and constantly making each other laugh … yet they are also incredibly tender, inclusive, and make those in their company feel loved and welcome. Simply put, they are SO EASY to be around. I left our time together having one of those “pinch me” kind of moments — that this is what I get to do! I get to document the love and joy of truly kind humans who have chosen us to join them in such a significant season of their lives! It is a gift.
It was during COVID that Gabe and Meghan first met, then finding themselves sharing their lives with one another from long distances for the past four years. Three months ago they moved in together, now calling the city where we did their engagement session “home!” Milwaukee is also where Gabe grew up : ) Though Meghan is from Chicago, her family has property out in Colorado; this very special place is where Gabe proposed. Mountains, wild flowers, a breath-taking outdoor setting … does it get any more romantic for a proposal?
I think romance follows these two … I can’t wait to share their photos! And more to come soon, as their wedding day is right around the corner! So very grateful for you, Gabe & Meghan!!
