What a ‘picture perfect’ wedding day Ben & Michelle had this past weekend! From the weather, to the floral installations, to Michelle absolutely radiant in her gown … it’s safe to say I cannot WAIT to share this day with you!

Having an outdoor wedding in Wisconsin can certainly be a risk. We can be known for having a bit of unpredictable weather! While there were backup plans on backup plans, Ben & Michelle were really hoping to have their ceremony on the outdoor plaza at The Edgewater Hotel in downtown Madison. Both originally being from out of the state, they wanted to share some of the best things their current home has to offer (the lakes, the Capitol, a glorious summer day) with those flying in from all over the country. And while we weren’t sure exactly what was going to happen just a day or two leading up to their celebration, Mother Nature was SO kind to these two in delivering a 75º, partly-cloudy-with-a-slight-breeze August afternoon.

Before the ceremony, the bridal party and both families headed to the Capitol Lawn to take photos in one of the city’s most beautiful and iconic spots. It could not have been a better backdrop for Ben & Michelle, and their stunning crew! We then finished by the lake, where Ben & Michelle got to meet up with their beloved ring bearer — their beautiful and GOOD boy, puppy Teddy! : )

Following an incredibly heartfelt ceremony, guests chatted, sipped cocktails, and munched on hors d’oeuvres while overlooking the many sailboats going by on the lake. The party to follow was breathtaking (with a special shoutout to Midwestern Bride and Daffodil Parker for their design and execution) and also SO. MUCH. FUN. There were lots and lots of happy tears, and too many surprises to count! Michelle and Ben were so obviously blown away by their family and friend’s creativity, dedication, and LOVE for them. The energy in that ballroom was out of this world <3
