Kervin + Lindsey | Married | A Coral, Red, + Gold Barn Wedding at The Melville Residence in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

October 5, 2015

I have been putting off writing this blog post because I simply don’t know where to begin. I feel like I have SO many things to say about this day + not enough space, yet at the same time, find myself at a loss for words. It was a magical, unbelievable, life-changing day. And what I do know is that Caleb + I feel absolutely honored to have been the ones given the privilege to capture it.

I have known Kervin + Lindsey for several years as I went to high school with both of them, however it wasn’t until after high school + well into their college years that these two really started getting to know one another … at just the right time. What began as a friendship turned into a BEST friendship + lifelong love. Since their story began, these two moved to Texas then back to Milwaukee, got a sweet puppy boy named Banner, + pursued a lifestyle of health, fitness, + sacrificial love (for both one another + those around them). They are truly a match made in heaven + compliment each other in the most beautiful of ways. They are an unshakable team + will together, forever, chase their dreams + make this world a better place. I mean every word!!

Their wedding day was one that I will not forget. Married on Lindsey’s parent’s property where she grew up, there was a lot … I mean a LOT of work that went into this day. Like, a year + a half’s worth of serious work. A complete remodel of the family’s old barn (new floors, walls, electrical, you name it!!), + hours upon hours of yard work, planning, + late night preparations. I cannot tell you HOW many times Lindsey told me on her day, “I just … I cannot begin to tell you how much work my parents have put into this day. They have done everything to make sure our wedding day was everything I dreamed of + I can just never thank them enough”. It’s safe to say that we, along with EVERY guest in attendance, were just STUNNED at the outcome of Jeff + Sue’s (Lindsey’s parents) hard work!!!

The barn was spectacular … the lights perfectly strewn, dΓ©cor in place + not a detail left out. A handcrafted bar, hanging chandelier, + dinner tables built by the bride’s father himself. I’ve never meant it more than now when I say, a TRUE labor of love. SO many hands on deck to help pull the day together – from a friend of Lindsey’s mother who is a former florist + crafted all the floral accents for the day, to more friends + family setting up long before the ceremony began, to the desserts made with love from all different families sharing their special recipes! I mean, I could go on, + on, + on … but instead, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking + explain more along the way : )

To Lindsey + Kervin – gosh, you guys are just so wonderful. Your kindness, selflessness, + graciousness does not EVER go unnoticed. Thank you for loving us, for including us, + for inspiring us with your story. May your new life together be filled with nothing short of amazing walks with Banner, nights cooking in the kitchen together, + that competitive playfulness that not only pushes you two to be the best version of you that you can be, but also reveals the depths of your love for one another : ) Enjoy some of our favorites from your day … I’m warning you all, it’s a long one!! And be sure to notice all the details!!! : )!!

All of these bowties were made by Lindsey’s grandmother!!

And then she added the birdcage veil to complete her look … oh my, oh my.

It’s a good thing I’m so funny ; )!!

What a view!!! I cannot believe this is where Lindsey GREW UP!!!

Kervin + Lindsey put out a photo album at the reception that showed the process of the work put in to restore the barn for their wedding … just amazing!!

Custom bar built + installed by Lindsey’s father for the wedding!!

LOVE this!!!

LOVE!!! Everything about this!!!

Time to celebrate!!! : )

All the meats for the meal were catered in locally, however the rubs used to season them were brought in from Kervin + Lindsey’s favorite barbecue place in Texas! And guests got to go home with these little personalized meat rub containers + spices!!

Table numbers were HANDMADE by Lindsey’s Maid of Honor, Julia!!

Desserts made by close family + friends, + labeled with whose favorite (Lindsey or Kervin) is whose!! : )

Lindsey’s brother explaining that in order for the couple to kiss, guests must complete a task drawn from the jar β€” which made for quite an entertaining evening!! : )

Things calmed down a bit for speeches : )

Since the DJ was playing/stationed on an upper level of the barn, Lindsey’s dad created a pulley system where guests could write + send up their song requests!!
