Peter & Melissa | An Intimate Private Residence Wedding in Madison, Wisconsin.

When I walked into the house where the girls were getting ready the morning of Peter & Melissa’s wedding, I was immediately greeted with laughter that filled the home. I am smiling just thinking about it because one of the things that sticks out most to me about their day is Melissa’s JOY. She already has the most captivating smile and we got to witness (and photograph) it all day long!

Everything about Peter & Melissa’s day was thought out in such an intentional way. These two come from VERY generous and loving families and we experienced this all day long. It was very important to Peter & Melissa to factor in a lot of “down time” throughout their day … to just BE, pause, reflect, pray, and not feel rushed bouncing from one thing to the next. I loved this and definitely saw what a beautiful impact it had on everyone involved in their day : )

Another amazing memory from their day was the ceremony. The faith of these two families is very important to them and the entire ceremony was a worship service with incredible music, heartfelt words shared by their friend / officiant, and shared communion. Nestled under a large tree at the top of the hill (along with a brilliant arch and other floral touches), it was a truly breathtaking scene. The officiant spoke about how loving, generous, and selfless both Peter & Melissa are … themes that followed them into the reception as loved ones spoke powerful words about them throughout the evening.

Peter & Melissa share so much love with the world AND they are very obviously loved in return. I am so thankful that we have gotten to experience a small (but super significant) part of their ongoing love story! We adore you, Shackelfords! We are SO grateful for you.
