Oh, I am just getting a little bit emotional scrolling through this post as I “proof” all of the photos you are about to see! There are a lot of people I love in these photos. Many are clients I have photographed for YEARS, one family was the recipient of our Black Lives Matter giveaway in 2020, and a few are some incredibly dear friends.
While I always want these photos to look pretty and everyone in them to feel confident, I really do have a new outlook on family sessions after now having a daughter of our own. When I look through these photos, of course I see cute outfits, beautiful makeup, and dreamy lighting. But FAR more than those things, I see wrinkled noses and bare little toes … goofy smiles … dirt stains and bruises. I hear the laughter I experienced during each session. I feel LOVE. I’m certain that every child in these photos already looks different — older — than they did during their session so thank goodness for these forever stamped moments in time.
We were only able to do an extremely limited number of family sessions this year due to our wildly busy, two-for-one wedding season (you are seeing them all below + our May mini sessions!) but I am looking forward to hopefully adding more to the calendar in 2022. I’m truly thankful to each family for trusting me to document this season of their story.
I’m not sure how it’s possible that today is December 1st, but we are certainly wrapping up the year and the season we will never forget. We have a few more end-of-the-year / recap posts coming your way, so stay tuned for those! Otherwise, to conclude (and from the very bottom of our hearts), thank you so much for being here.
