As I sit down to write this post, I feel like a bit of a broken record. This past season was one we will never forget — for so many reasons! The year was split 50/50, with half our couples having rescheduled from 2020 and the other half being new weddings planned for the first time in 2021. We were busy … to say the very least!!
When I look through these photos, the preeminent emotion I see is LOVE, followed closely by JOY : ) However, I know firsthand that throughout these days are also woven emotions we don’t often think about when we we think of weddings: heartache, loss, and disappointment, among others. I simply cannot talk about the beauty of each wedding day without also acknowledging the hardship that every single one of the couples in these photos experienced when planning their celebrations.
They were faced with nearly impossible decisions and losses of all kinds. Families found themselves in situations they never imagined and I believe this deserves recognition. Each one pressed on and you know what? Love prevails. And I hope that LOVE and JOY are always the first emotions (and hopefully someday only emotions) experienced as each relives their day looking back through their photos.
There truly is SO much beauty in this post and I am really proud of it. I am honored to share the moments, the hard work, the smiles, the art and creativity, and the love. I am always so proud to get to put love into the world.
Thank you to each person, each couple, and each family who chose us to be here for these moments. We are filled with gratitude. May your lives overflow with peace, light, laughter, and all good things. We love you and are so (so!) thankful for you! Now let’s enjoy : )
