I had to pinch myself a few times during Carson & Madelyn’s session as I asked them aloud, “Am I actually working right now?!” We had the most GORGEOUS summer night for their riverside engagement session. Spending time with these two felt so easy and fun. It was certainly an evening where I drove away feeling immense gratitude for the opportunities this job presents.
I met Carson & Madelyn at her parent’s second home on the great Mississippi River. I was greeted with smiles, excitement, and the warmest welcome : ) We hopped in the boat and headed to our first destination, a private beach where these these two love to spend time together in the summer. The rest of their time on the water is spent either fishing (Carson) or skiing (Madelyn). It was very important to them to do their photos on the river as it is the place where they feel most at home. I sure am thankful they chose to share their little slice of Heaven with me!
After the river, we headed back to the house and then drove a few minutes to Nelson Dewey State Park. I have never been before and WOW — the views were truly spectacular!! It almost felt like we were in a different part of the country as we snapped photos along the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi. The sun was setting behind them and I probably commented on how breathtaking it was about 1,000,000 times!
I cannot wait for Carson & Madelyn’s wedding next year. We are truly lucky to have the chance to get to know such amazing people. Until then … enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session!!
