Three years ago, we had the honor of photographing Tom & Deb’s daughter, Sarah, marry the love of her life. We loved getting to know both Sarah & her husband Adam, who had a beautiful spring wedding at The Lageret in Stoughton, Wisconsin. We really briefly get to know parents on a couples’ wedding day, but I do remember Sarah’s parents’ joy!

A few months ago, Sarah emailed me that her parents would be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year and that her and her siblings wanted to gift them a session to celebrate such a special milestone. A milestone certainly for Tom & Deb themselves, but also one that their kids are overjoyed to recognize!

I am thankful to Sarah and her siblings for purchasing this session for their parents. These sessions are so special to me … and I’m just the photographer! I can only begin to imagine how invaluable they are for each family, now, but even more so with each passing year. I truly feel SO lucky to be able to provide these sessions for couples and to share the photographs with their families AND with the world : ) I can’t quite articulate just how much they fill my cup.

My night at Pope Farm with Tom & Deb was magical. I sincerely adore these two. They are beautiful together and I felt so comfortable in their presence. I learned they met in college at an RA (Resident Assistant) dance and that the moment Tom saw Deb, he knew he was going to marry her. Deb was very studious and Tom brought the playful fun; needless to say, they are a great compliment to one another to this day! It is inspiring.

Good communication and patience are their pillars for a fulfilling marriage. They also shared one of their secret tips with me: take lots of walks together, especially when you need to have those challenging conversations! It is helpful mentally to walk and talk. I love this idea and think it makes so much sense! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me/us, Tom & Deb!

The biggest CHEERS! to 40 years together for these two. You have blessed us immensely with your love.
