What a BEAUTIFUL day it was for Peter & Olivia’s wedding last weekend! The sun was shining as we walked into Lodge Kohler early Saturday morning to meet up with the bridal party. The girls were chatting, laughing, and drinking champagne as they got their hair and makeup done, all wearing the most adorable pink and orange pajama sets that Olivia had gifted them! When I opened the invitation suite to begin photographing some of the wedding details, I was delighted to see that COLOR was going to be a theme all day long! It was a decision that perfectly fit Peter & Olivia’s personalities : ) I told Olivia that I felt very creatively inspired to be shooting something so FUN and different!
Peter & Olivia did not do a first look, but instead saw each other for the first time as Olivia walked down the aisle with her dad. It was one of MANY emotional moments throughout the day, as both Olivia and Peter (and their parents and siblings, if I’m sharing the full picture!) shed tears of JOY that this day was finally here. There were so, so, so many tears and hugs and moments of gratitude shared throughout Peter and Olivia’s wedding day … it is truly hard to describe in words the amount of LOVE that these families have for one another. Before we left the reception later that evening, I actually pulled Olivia’s parents aside to tell them how inspiring it was to not only see how much they love their kids, but how much their kids love each other AND how much they love and respect their parents. It almost felt like something you only could ever hope and dream will happen in your family! It was *magical* to be a small part of this wedding day story.
After the ceremony, the entire bridal party and families headed to “The Shack,” a little house on a beautiful piece of property on Lake Michigan that Olivia’s parent’s own. It is a very meaningful place to Peter & Olivia (also, where they got engaged!) so making the trip to take a few photos on their wedding day was a must. While we were there, I overheard Olivia’s oldest sister say to her, “It is SO special to be here right now, Olivia … this was an absolutely perfect idea.”
The evening celebration was hosted at Oneida Golf & Country Club, where Olivia’s family have been members for more than 70 years. Ebb & Flow, along with Alliey & Co, did a spectacular job bringing the couple’s vision to life with again, so much COLOR! It was impossible to walk into the room without smiling … the space had the happiest vibes : ) I cannot wait to share so many special and beautiful moments with you from this day so without further adieu, introducing the brand new Mr. & Mrs. Sedlar!!!
