I really thought I knew what love was.
Falling in love with my husband was one of the most magical seasons of my life. We got married, traveled the world together, and built this beloved business in which I have spent the past 12 years photographing one of my life’s greatest passions: marriage.
Amidst all of this, four years ago, my daughter was born. She was someone we had hoped, prayed, and waited so very long for. When she finally arrived — when I became a mom and when together, we became parents — my understanding of love exploded and many things in my life began to shift.
Most notably, I started to notice that my deepest desires were evolving. Now, nothing mattered more to me than my growing family. And as a photographer who has had the privilege of spending the entirety of my career up until now documenting my passion, I knew it was time for my career to evolve alongside me so that I could continue on this beautiful journey.
Therefore, I am so excited to announce that I am *officially* expanding the family photography side of my business! Though I have been photographing families since 2013, I was really only able to do so for past wedding clients as here in Wisconsin, the “busy season” for ALL types of photography is May through October and my capacity was limited. Now, however, I am thoughtfully and intentionally taking less weddings and more families, to ensure I can offer the very best version of myself to every single one of my clients (and to my family!).
How to Book a Family Session With Me
This year, I will be offering two main types of sessions: Mini Sessions and Full Sessions.
- Mini session dates and information will be released in batches throughout the year, 2-3 months at a time. Those on my Mini Session Email List will be the first with access to these dates, so if you are interested, be sure to sign up for that here!
- Full sessions can be booked by emailing me directly at maison@maisonmeredith.com. I am currently booking for this spring and summer! Full sessions are ~60 minute sessions taking place on a date and at a location determined by both the client and myself. They are perfect for newborns, bigger families, and families with smaller children or those needing more time to warm up to someone new.
- Lastly, I will also be offering a new type of session this year called a Lifestyle Session. These sessions are designed to capture a family at home, just as they are, candidly and authentically. So often our sweetest and most sacred moments take place at home — the ordinary, perfectly imperfect details and experiences of everyday life — that without documenting, will most certainly be forgotten. I hope to capture families in their safest space, doing life together, where parents are actually in the photos with their kids! These are not meant to be a formal photo session in which there is a lot of direction or ‘posed’ family photos, but rather a more documentary-style approach to our time together.
Over the past couple of years, I have found that helping families meaningfully preserve their story could not resonate more deeply with me as both a mom, and an artist. I feel truly lucky to live out such a purposeful calling, and to be along for life’s ride with so many extraordinary people.
