Kevin & Molly | A Vintage-Inspired Wedding at The Cedar Lake Schoolhouse in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

September 20, 2017

In their engagement session post last year, I mentioned that Kevin and Molly’s wedding was one that I was looking forward to SO much this 2017 season. Molly was one of my very best friends in high school and so getting the opportunity to photograph her wedding day was a huge honor for us. HUGE. I had so many moments on their day where I thought to myself, “I really cannot believe that I get to be here, doing this for my job.” I felt so thankful (SO thankful) and honestly, we just had so much fun!!! It was so great to see so many people that I knew but of course, the greatest part was seeing Molly as a bride — so happy, radiant, and filled with emotion.

Kevin and Molly both come from families with teachers in them AND they are both in the teaching profession themselves, so coupled with a love for heritage, legacy, and vintage things, having their wedding day celebration at the Cedar Lake Schoolhouse in Waupaca (where we grew up!) was the perfect setting. Over the past year, these two (and their family members) have been collecting vintage pieces to incorporate into the day — from the plates to the vases to some of the furniture pieces — everything came together seamlessly and I’m here to tell them publicly that all their hard work in doing so most certainly paid off! With styling and coordination help from the phenomenal team at Elevate Events, Kevin and Molly truly had the day they were dreaming of!!

Molly looked so beautiful in her lace gown that truly appeared as though it was made for her. Her vintage jewelry and hairpiece were perfect compliments to both the day as well as to her wedding ring set that once belonged to her grandmother. Kevin cried when he saw her for the first time and while I know he was in awe of how stunning she looked, I have no doubt that the tears were about so much more than that. The woman before him was about to become his wife and I have no doubt that that reality is what brought him to tears. These two have been through so much together and truly have one of the most solid foundations that I know of going into their marriage. I am SO excited for them to continue learning and growing together (another nod to the schoolhouse theme that was mentioned many times throughout the speeches!) and the army of love and support that these two have around them is truly so incredible.

It was a day in which absolutely nothing went “wrong.” A day in which the bridal party quite literally looked like they stepped out of a wedding magazine. A day in which siblings couldn’t help but hold back tears as they reflected on the strength of the couple committing themselves to one another for the rest of their lives. A day in which guests ate pie and ice cream … and danced to 90’s music until the late hours of the night. Kevin and Molly — I think you guys know how much we love you. We are SO happy for you and even more excited for you. You guys are IMPACTING those around you in huge, life-changing ways and are truly a gift to this world. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for allowing us the opportunity to capture this part of your story. Now enough with the sap — enjoy our favorites from your day!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

I just loved Molly’s earrings!!

So handsome, Kevin!!!

How good do they look?!??!?!

A favorite : )

One of the groomsmen (I will not say who) was very adamant about doing a Blue Steel photo … and I love it!! Hehe : )

LOVE!!!!!!!

Kevin and Molly had all of their siblings (6 total!!) read a portion of a poem they wrote and then share words about and/or for the couple. This was one of my FAVORITE parts of the whole day <3

Absolute favorite <3 Molly, you are RADIATING!!!

Now that’s a sunset GLOW!!

<3 <3 <3

A very special shoutout to Kevin & Molly’s wedding day team!
