2020 has brought so many unexpected twists, turns and surprises. Many of them challenging but some of them have been undeniably beautiful. Meeting these two has been one of our unexpected highlights of the season!
Due to COVID, Joe & Kelly opted to plan a very intimate ceremony to celebrate their commitment and marriage. Their Ellsworth Block micro wedding was not only beautiful but so very special. They were joined by just four guests – Kelly’s parents and Joe’s sister and brother-in-law. You can imagine how honored we felt to be in the room with these six individuals. The space felt so sacred and special. I had this thought during a really intimate part of their ceremony … “I can’t believe I get to be here to witness this and preserve such a historical moment for their family.”
Joe’s brother-in-law married the couple and the ceremony was filled with very personal words, stories, and vows. Many family members sent in love notes to the couple which were shared by Joe’s sister. Joe and Kelly each wrote a letter to one another and read them during the ceremony. Each reflected on their many memories and notable moments together – both big and small. They laughed, cried (definitely cried!), and then concluded with the sincerest of vows.
We got to photograph their wedding portraits on a separate day at Pope Farm Conservancy, meaning Kelly got to have two separate dresses and two bridal looks! Which was really fun for both her and I : ) I am grateful to get to be the one to share these photos with you today — enjoy. We are SO happy for you, J&K!!!!!
