If I had to choose three words to describe Jonathan & Martha’s wedding day, I would choose: family, flowers, and fun. And no, the alliteration was not intentional!!!! First and foremost, Jonathan & Martha planned a day filled with moments shared by family. By the end of the day, I left feeling like I really (really!) got to know their siblings and parents. It is OBVIOUS that these two value their familial relationships more than any others and I think that is really special. Martha did a first look with both her parents, the couple was married by a friend (who is more like family), her grandparents gave a special toast at the reception, and Jonathan’s brothers were beside us the whole day, helping carry things as needed, taking pictures and videos to document the memories, and one time I even witnessed one of them down on his knee helping Martha step into her heels after we were done taking photos in the grass. Everyone just felt so close and connected, truly there to share in the joy as well as serve one another! Don’t get me started on the toasts … : ) Grandpa Ira, who wasn’t able to attend, even wrote a letter to the couple that was read at the reception.
You will quickly see that this day was also filled with beautiful flowers!! Daffodil Parker did an incredible job, as always, even providing blooms grown in one of the florist’s own backyards! The color pallete was incredibly romantic and I loved it so much!! Throughout the day, I kept noticing so many other thoughtful details … like the stamps on the stationery nodding to some of Jonathan & Martha’s story (their love of cats, Missouri — where they are both from, Wisconsin — where they live now), Martha’s great-grandmother’s bracelet that she wore, custom Nike tennis shoes with the couple’s initials for each groomsmen … I think you get the idea : )
Lastly, this couple (and their friends and family) know how to have FUN! We were laughing the entire day and the energy carried well into the night! I wasn’t in attendance to confirm, but I’m pretty sure the party continued downtown even after the reception “officially” ended : ) I’m just really excited to share Jonathan & Martha’s day with you so without further adieu, ENJOY!!!
