This past Saturday, Connor & Kaitlyn danced to the exact same song they first danced to as eighth graders: two first dances … one song … TWELVE years apart. I just think this is so beautiful and SO inspirational. They have been through nearly every stage of life together and yet somehow, their life together is just beginning! What a legacy they are going to have.

After their first look, Connor and Kaitlyn shared their personal vows with one another in the same location where they got engaged four and a half years ago. Everything these two choose to do is so intentional. The vows were emotional and powerful, both of them sharing that young love can certainly be complicated but that they always knew they had found their forever in the other. Let me tell you, I know this to be true as I’ve had the privilege of getting to know them. Their love is “farther than the farthest.”

Surrounded by their closest group of family and friends, Connor and Kaitlyn truly basked in the once-in-a-lifetime moments of their day. I think Connor said to me, “I am just blown away by all of this,” about 10 different times and I loved how he not only noticed but acknowledged the joy and gratitude he was feeling throughout the day. It was infectious joy … just as it should be : )

Needless to say, we are SO happy for you Acker’s! FINALLY! You have waited so long for this day and it was MAGICAL. I have no doubt you know how many people feel the exact same way as I do, too : ) Your siblings both mentioned in their speeches what a gift it is to be loved by you and I hope you were able to feel that same love from everyone who supports the life you are building together. We love you — here’s to forever <3
